We are so incredibly proud to announce that Dacusville Elementary has received an Excellent overall rating according to the South Carolina School Report Card! This is a proud moment and one where we pause to celebrate and recognize the hard work of our teachers, staff, and our students. We would also like to thank our parents for their support as well. At DES, we focus on growth, and this school report card is a reflection of that growth. When compared to the 2024 school report card, DES increased its overall points by 9 and its overall rating from "Good" to "EXCELLENT!" Thank you to everyone who contributed to this success. The Best is Yet to Come!

We’re proud to announce the launch of a brand-new program at Dacusville Elementary the Dacusville Jr. Deputy Award Each month, one student will be recognized for going above and beyond to show exemplary character: helping others without being asked, caring for those around them, and being a true friend to everyone. Our very first Jr. Deputy Award is proudly presented to Grace Davis, a 5th-grade student, who was nominated by her teacher for her unwavering kindness and strong sense of responsibility. Grace consistently looks out for others, steps in to help when someone is in need, and leads by quiet example. Her compassion, reliability, and genuine care for her classmates make her a role model and a true reflection of the values this award was created to honor. Each Jr. Deputy Award recipient will receive: • A certificate presented in front of their class • A Sheriff’s Office challenge coin • A $20 gift certificate, generously donated by Bricks & Minifigs – Central Thank you to our school staff and community partners for helping us recognize and encourage compassion, character, and leadership in our students. Congratulations, Grace we’re proud of you!

Mrs. Traynum’s class had a blast during a Grinch Escape Room Challenge! 🎄 Students worked together to solve the code, escape Mt. Crumpet, and save Whoville. 💚 Learning + teamwork + fun!

✈️🌍 Around the World in First Grade! 🌍✈️ This week, our first graders have been flying around the world as we learned all about holidays celebrated in different countries! 🎉 We explored Australia, Germany, Mexico, and Greece, discovering traditions, customs, and special celebrations from each place. The students loved learning how people around the world celebrate in unique and meaningful ways! What an exciting week of learning, culture, and fun—our classroom passports are full! 💙📚

Yesterday we celebrated our Distinguished Dolphin Breakfast! 🐬 We are so proud of our students for demonstrating the character traits of Bravery, Gratitude, and knowing that their words and actions affect others.

So much holiday cheer and teamwork today! 🎄✨ Mr. Furr’s class stopped by to help our Pre-K students create Christmas garland. Our littles practiced cutting and fine motor skills by tying ribbon onto the string. We always love seeing our fifth graders lend a helping hand to our little ones as they spread Christmas joy!

✨ Thank you to all the friends and family who came out to support the first night of our Winter Music Performances! Our K5–2nd grade students lit up the stage with holiday cheer tonight! ❄️🎶

What a joyful morning at DES! We were excited to host Toddler Time and see our tiniest friends enjoying stories, activities, and fun. 🎉📖

Our annual holiday canned food drive to support United Christian Ministries will run until December 18. Students can bring items listed to vote for Turkey or Santa. All items will be delivered to United Christian Ministries on December 18. Thank you for helping those in need this holiday season! We look forward to seeing who will win Turkey vs. Santa!!

Ms. Younce’s class has been busy! 🦃✨ Students did an amazing job creating their text feature turkeys. We are so grateful for days filled with learning and laughter!
