Our Discovery Den opened its doors for business this week! At Liberty Primary, we value learning through play and know that the benefits of play are endless- language and vocabulary development, thinking and problem solving, creativity, career connection, collaboration and teamwork- all those “soft skills” that students need to have in order to be College and Career Ready and become successful citizens of our community. (Did you know? Our Discovery Den is part of a greater Liberty Area Schools initiative to expose students to careers at an early age and prepare them for career opportunities that they will have in elementary, middle, and high school!) Discovery Den is our students’ favorite part of the week… check out all the learning and problem solving that takes place in the Den, and find out more about play at LPS here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18B3PhvX_u9s9gywPfejYjQg-k9Wr78Py/view?usp=drivesdk

Back to School tip from Liberty Primary: If you plan for your student to use the bus this year, please fill out the 2023-2024 Student Transportation Form at the link below. This will help transportation plan for routes prior to the beginning of school. Please note that we will need to know the address for pick-up in the morning and the address for drop-off in the afternoon (especially if these are different from your home address). Please direct individual questions to aaronboyles@pickens.k12.sc.us or cynthiafranks@pickens.k12.sc.us. Thank you! Back to School tip from Liberty Primary: Have you updated your child's information in FinalForms? Caregivers must complete a required online student information update in FinalForms, an online forms and data management service that is replacing our former "Registration Gateway." This must be completed in order for your child to be enrolled for the 2023-2024 school year. An email with information was sent to caregivers on July 13, 2023 - please look in your inbox for this info and access the update at the link provided in your email.

We have 9 days until the first day of school. Check out our "Back to School" Newsletter for all you need to know as you get ready to kick off the school year!

Back to School tip from Liberty Primary: Next Thursday, July 27 is Meet the Teacher day! Teachers contacted parents via email on Thursday, July 20, but many have found that these emails went to Junk or Spam folders. Please check your email - including Junk and Spam - for an email from your child’s teacher so that you will know how to schedule a time for Meet the Teacher before next week. If you did not receive an email, please contact the school on Monday, July 24. Thanks! We can’t wait to see our Wolfpack!

Happy summer, Wolfpack! While the start of the school year still seems far off, it will be here before we know it! Please take a moment to mark your calendars for Meet the Teacher on July 27, and save a copy of our 2023-2024 supply list found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1t0Fz1QZufdLm9y_EmUIZ7dzkOuaaE99V/view?usp=sharing We hope you’re all having a safe, relaxing summer, and we’ll see you soon!

At Liberty Primary School, we are intentional about creating “moments like this” that make learning and growing fun and memorable for our Wolfpack. At the end of each school year, students participate in Summer Celebration Week. This year, we celebrated BIG with a Field Day luau on Monday, a ton of foam and water play on Tuesday, and a day full of carnival rides and cotton candy on Wednesday! We also conducted our special “wish well” and bridging ceremonies for our 2nd and 3rd graders who will transition to Liberty Elementary next year. We are so thankful for this year with our Wolfpack and hope to send them off for the summer with great memories of their 2022-2023 school year!

We enjoyed showering our staff with appreciation all week, but the flower bar boutique was our favorite! Each student picked a flower for their teachers and they created the prettiest bouquets! We have amazing students and staff at LPS!
