On Monday, February 9, 2026, the School District of Pickens County Board of Trustees approved the Superintendent’s recommendation to name Mr. Robert Neuner as Principal of Dacusville Elementary School, effective July 1, 2026.
Mr. Neuner currently serves as Principal of Windsor Hill Arts Infused Elementary School in Dorchester School District Two, where he has led the school since 2016. During his tenure, Windsor Hill consistently earned Good or Excellent ratings on the South Carolina School Report Card and demonstrated strong student growth while fostering a positive school culture and meaningful community partnerships.
“Mr. Neuner is an experienced, accomplished principal with a strong record of improving both academic outcomes and school climate,” said Superintendent Dr. Danny Merck. “His leadership experience and commitment to students and staff will be a tremendous asset to the Dacusville Elementary community.”
Mr. Neuner brings more than 30 years of experience in education. He began his career as a classroom teacher, teaching science at the middle school level before moving into school leadership. He later served as an assistant principal and instructional leader before becoming a principal, roles that helped shape his collaborative leadership style and focus on instructional improvement.
His work in education has also been shaped by personal experience. His wife, Stefanie, is an educator and currently teaches art at Summerville High School. They have two sons, including a son with autism. As a parent, Mr. Neuner has developed a strong focus on supporting students with special needs and identifying challenges early - work that makes his leadership at the elementary level especially meaningful.
Mr. Neuner holds a Master’s degree in Educational Planning, Policy, and Leadership from the College of William and Mary, a Master’s degree in Natural Sciences from Coastal Carolina University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He holds South Carolina certifications as an Elementary and Secondary Principal and Supervisor, along with multiple instructional endorsements.

Mr. Neuner will officially begin his role as principal of Dacusville Elementary School in July 2026.
