On Saturday morning, our Run Hard after school club ran their 5K race at Furman University. These boys and girls did an excellent job representing our school and now for the 3rd year in a row DES has finished runner-up in the Overall School Winner Award out of 10+ elementary and middle schools who compete against one another.

Corbin Duncan-1st Place 5th grade Boys (7th overall in the race)
Dexter Godfrey-3rd Place 5th grade Boys (14th overall in the race)
Payce Chappell-1st Place 5th grade Girls
Lucy Hazel-3rd Place 5th grade Girls
Macy Harvey-4th Place 5th grade Girls
This was the highest number of kids that DES has ever sent to the awards podium and the highest number of kids that we have ever had to participate in our Run Hard program at DES.
Also, congratulations to Liam Furr and Lucy Hazel for receiving the "Team Spirit Award" in recognition of demonstrating all of the character traits of a Run Hard student athlete.
